Boldly green. Step by step.
A sustainability plan from BOSS paints and colora
For us, sustainability is not a destination. It is a journey.
At BOSS paints, we have long believed that a beautiful world begins with care—care for quality, for people, and for the places where we live and work. And today more than ever: care for tomorrow.
For us, sustainability is neither a destination nor a label. It’s a journey. One filled with choices, questions, testing, and course corrections. Sometimes big leaps, sometimes small steps. But always moving forward.
That’s why we have Plan Brave Green. A bold plan—because we dare to acknowledge where we stand and where we still need to grow. We’re already doing a lot, and we’re genuinely proud of that. At the same time, we know this work is never done—as long as we remain honest, keep learning, and keep taking action.
Building a Better World Together
Plan Brave Green shows what we’re doing to become greener, more inclusive, and more responsible. It provides direction. It clarifies our choices. And it invites everyone to join us in building a better world.
Because sustainability isn’t something you achieve alone. You achieve it together—with colleagues, customers, suppliers, partners, and communities.
In our sustainability report (in line with the VSME standards), you’ll find a more complete picture of what we’re doing.
Your input is valuable.
Our plan is based on five pillars.
The Five Cs. Five commitments that show who we are and where we want to go.
Climate
Taking a responsible approach to climate change now, with an eye toward the future.

Because the future starts today
We take our responsibility for the climate seriously. We want to reduce our impact—sustainably and measurably. Not with big words, but with concrete actions.
We’ve already significantly reduced our greenhouse gas emissions and remain committed to achieving climate neutrality. We take a critical look at what and how we produce, how we use energy, and how we get around.
Step by step. With realistic goals. And with transparency about our progress. Be bold and green, even when things get complex.
Objective
Reduce Scope 1 & 2 emissions to zero by 2040
Reduce Scope 3 emissions to zero by 2050
How we’re tackling this
Making our trucks and vehicle fleet more sustainable
Reducing and greening energy consumption
Sustainable product development
CO₂ offsetting where necessary
Comprehensive bicycle policy for employees
Community
Making a meaningful contribution to a better community.

Together, we make the world around us a little warmer.
BOSS paints and colora are not separate from the world around us. We are part of it—and we take responsibility for it. We believe that companies can play a role in strengthening neighborhoods, fostering connections, and promoting positive community life.
That’s why we support initiatives that bring people together, beautify spaces, and create opportunities—from neighborhood campaigns and art projects to small-scale social initiatives and long-term partnerships with organizations that truly make a difference.
Not for the sake of visibility, but to add value—where it counts.
Objective
Strengthen neighborhoods, connection, and positive coexistence
How We Approach this
Organizing “Warmste Actie” and neighborhood initiatives
Supporting long-term partners (Bond zonder Naam, Youca, Natuurpunt, vzw Victor)

Bill: a fair compensation policy
Continuous focus on company culture and connection
Circular
Because less waste means more value.

Using what we have more wisely.
Raw materials are not infinite. That’s why we want to avoid waste, both in our production and beyond. We seek circular solutions, collaborate with suppliers, and help customers and consumers use paint more consciously.
Sometimes that means buying less. And that’s where the real benefit lies for us—because true sustainability isn’t about consuming more, but about using resources better.
Waste less. Create more value.
Objective
Use less, but create the same value
How we’re tackling this
Researching and developing circular paint (including recycled binders)
Collaborating with our suppliers to offer more sustainable products, e.g., recycled binders
Avoiding waste in our own production facilities
“Buy Less Paint” campaign at colora
Smaller packaging for less waste
Paint waste service: properly disposing of leftover paint
Maximizing the use of rainwater and water treatment
Recycled packaging
Confidence
Sustainable solutions and products you can rely on.

Sustainable paint, without compromise.
At BOSS paints, no one has to choose between sustainability and quality. Our customers should be able to paint with confidence, using products that are high-quality, people-friendly, and environmentally friendly—today and tomorrow.
We remain committed to safe, well-thought-out formulas and advice that truly helps. Because sustainable choices only work if they actually work well.
Objective
Reduce the use of SoC raw materials from current levels to 10% by 2030 and 0% by 2050
Zero SVHC raw materials (now and in the future)
60% of our paints will meet the IAQ A+ label by 2030 (currently: 52%)
Zero customer complaints as the ultimate goal
Maximize product lifespan and efficiency
